East Lindsey District Council has agreed to fund the work after a lengthy dispute about exactly who was responsible for the slabs.

Two months ago, a pensioner complained to the News that she had slipped on the slabs and called for them to be replaced.

Clerk Gillian Mauger confirmed the town council had been calling for the slabs to be replaced because of safety fears. She said councillors hoped more limestone slabs would be removed.
