The course, which is being delivered by Humberside Fire and Rescue Service at Scunthorpe Fire Station, is designed to help unemployed young people build their confidence and move into employment.

The course is the first of its kind in Scunthorpe and began in February, with current students being shortlisted from many applications. Now in their fourth week, the 15 young people aged between 16-25 have been undertaking team building exercises, and are currently busy preparing for a community project.

In two weeks, each individual will be attending a work placement, and ongo will be supporting 3 people to develop their skills and to help prepare them for work.
