Worksop: A chance to meet Santa and to help poorly children in Bassetlaw Hospital at H&T fun day

Staff from H&T Pawnbrokers on Bridge Street, Worksop, are now asking for people to donate new toys for children aged between one-years-old and six-years-old.

The toys do not have to be wrapped and can be dropped off into the shop.

All of the donated toys will be delivered on Christmas Eve and will go to children who are in the children’s ward at Bassetlaw Hospital.

On Saturday 13th December, between 10am until 3pm, H&T will be holding a fun day in their shop.

Santa and his friends will be there on the day to welcome everyone into the Christmas spirit.

There will also be face painting, treats and a balloon twister in store.

With the money raised from the fun day, the store are hoping to buy a tablet for the children in the hospital.

Philippa Snowden, a member of staff at H&T Pawnbrokers, said:“ Sometimes people forget that some of the children in hospital are too poorly to get out of bed, so can’t always join in with the other kids and play with the toys.”

“If we can raise enjoy money to buy the children an IPad so they can play on it and watch films, it will be something everyone can use.”

“We would really like to help the children in the wards at Bassetlaw hospital this Christmas who are not able to be at home over the festive period.”

“The toy appeal and fun day was so successful last year that the tablet we provided was a great help to distract children having injections and who couldn’t necessarily leave their beds to play with toys.”

“Our Santa from action theme hero’s will be delivering the donations over the Christmas period.”

During the fun day on Saturday 13th December, there will be an opportunity for children to have their photograph taken with Santa.

Donations after the photograph are welcome, which will go towards buying the all important IPad.

After the photo with Santa, the children will receive an early Christmas treat.
