Worksop: Aurora launch new Macmillan hub
The Aurora Well Being Centre, based in the old library building on Memorial Avenue, is run by volunteers and has been supporting people who have been diagnosed with cancer for more than ten years.
The open day on Friday 2nd May, 11am-3pm, will also give people the opportunity to try yoga, pilates and beauty treatments.

“We offer free packages of beauty treatments, holistic treatments, yoga and pilates and mindfulness programmes for people with a cancer diagnosis and their carers.”
“We offer the same to the general public at competitive prices and the funding from members of the public enables us to offer the free packages to people with a cancer diagnosis.”
“We welcome people to come along and see what we have to offer. “

One in three people in the Bassetlaw locality are affected by cancer whether that be as a patient, carer, friend or family member.
Peter Bradley, campaign manager, said: “Where do people go once their medical treatment is over? Are they expected to continue living the same life as before their cancer diagnosis? At our centre, we offer various services to inform, advise and support anyone affected by cancer.”
The new Macmillan Hub will offer up-to-date information about the possible effects and implications of a cancer diagnosis.
