The £3.2m station’s new eaterie will be run by Steve Batty’s company Nosh Retail, which already has six outlets in the UK including one at Sheffield’s Meadowhall.

The new café, which is set to open on Thursday, November 26, will offer hungry passengers an extensive breakfast, hot and cold light lunches and serve Fairtrade coffee, along with a wide range of other hot and cold drinks.

Steve, who founded his company in 2006, said: “I was born and bred in Worksop and as a result I know the area very well.

“This new development is an ideal opportunity for my company to become part of my hometown. I’m really looking forward to bringing our welcoming, friendly culture to the new bus station.

“Nosh uses top-quality ingredients and our range of hot and cold food and drinks, prepared daily in our kitchens, is available to eat in the cafe or take away.

“We pride ourselves on delivering great tasting, freshly prepared food and drinks, all with fast, friendly service,” he added.

CouncillorKevin Greaves, chairman of Nottinghamsh’re County Council’s transport and highways committee, said: “I am very much looking forward to welcoming Steve and his team to Worksop bus station.

“The new café will offer a first-class selection of delicious meals and drinks and will help to further improve passengers’ experiences when they visit the bus station.”

The cafe marks another step towards the total completion of the multi-million pound bus station, which opened in August.

Students from North Notts College recently made and installed a metal tree-shaped sculpture outside the bus station to symbolize the growth and future of Worksop.
