Worksop Bus Station café to be officially opened on Friday

The £3.2m station’s new eaterie will be run by Nosh Retail - owned by Worksop-born man Steve Batty.

Nosh Retail has six outlets in the UK – including one at Sheffield’s Meadowhall.

The café will be officially opened by Mr Batty and Nottinghamshire County Council chairman, councillor Sybil Fielding, who will cut a cake baked especially for the occasion.

The new café will offer an extensive breakfast, hot and cold light lunches and serve Fairtrade coffee, along with a wide range of other hot and cold drinks.

“We pride ourselves on delivering great tasting, freshly prepared food and drinks, all with fast, friendly service,” said Mr Batty.

“We use top-quality ingredients and our range of hot and cold food and drinks, prepared daily in our kitchens, is available to eat in or take away.

“I was born and bred in Worksop and as a result know the area very well.

“This new development is an ideal opportunity for Nosh to become part of my home town and I’m really looking forward to bringing our welcoming, friendly culture to the new bus station.”

Coun Kevin Greaves, chairman of the County Council’s transport and highways committee, said: “I am looking forward to welcoming Steve and his team to Worksop bus station.

“The new café will offer a first-class selection of delicious meals, snacks and drinks and will help to further improve passengers’ experiences when they visit.”
