Jake’s family need to raise £2,000 for a corrective helmet which Jake, who is eight months old, will need to wear for 23 hours a day for around six months to help the bones harden in his skull and fuse together permanently.

To help raise the funds needed a charity football match has been arranged between the Langold Juniors Under 9’s and their mums.

Jake’s mum, Emma Evans, said: “Jake’s older brothers play for Langold Juniors Under 9’s and the coach has organised a mums versus lads football match in full kits and Jake will be there.”

The match is taking place on Sunday 1st December at Langold Hotel at 1pm and there will also be a raffle and prizes have been donated from Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Worksop Town, Rotherham Town and various other businesses.

They have already managed to raise just over £700.

Emma added: “Any extra funds we raise will be donated to the Headstart 4 Babies charity which is helping other babies like Jake.”
