Worksop: Cyclist airlifted to hospital after crash on A57 bypass

A cyclist was airlifted to hospital after a push bike collided with a car in Worksop yesterday (Sunday 7th June).

It happened on the A57 roundabout near Sainsbury’s on High Grounds Road at around 12pm.

The road was closed for almost seven hours due to the crash. reopening at 6:45pm, and a lot of traffic built up as a result of the accident.

The cyclist is not thought to be seriously hurt, having only sustained minor injuries, and it is understood that he has been released from hospital. The driver of the car was not harmed.

A Notts Police spokesperson said: “Initally, the crash looked like it could be very serious, but thankfully nobody sustained more than minor injuries in the incident.”
