Residents are being asked to think about underprivileged children this Christmas and to donate to a toy appeal.

David Hawke Property Service on Bridge Street, Worksop will be holding their annual toy appeal, which starts on Friday 14th November.

For over 20 years David Hawke’s Christmas toy appeal has received hundreds of new toys and gifts which are distributed to less fortunate children across Bassetlaw.

Val Casey, officer manager, said: “ We want as many local businesses as possible to get involved in the toy appeal, if they can.”

“We want to raise awareness for children who won’t get anything at Christmas.”

“ Over the years, the appeal has always done well and we hope this year we can collect lots of toys.”

Val went onto say: “Whilst enjoying Christmas, people can forget that Santa doesn’t visit for every child in Bassetlaw.”

“Some children are not as fortunate and one little toy could make their Christmas.”

“All you have to do is add one more present to your Christmas list.”

“These toys and gifts make Christmas special, not just for the child but also for the parents who are overwhelmed by people’s kindness.”

“These are our kids and a simple toy will mean a lot to them.”

In previous years raffle prizes have included a bike M&S and Argos vouchers.

This year’s exciting raffle prize is yet to be decided.

To carry on with the festive celebrations, on Saturday 13th December, staff at David Hawke will be turning their office into Santa’s Grotto.
