Worksop: Fans campaign for Oxo TV adverts starring Lynda Bellingham to be aired over Christmas

The actress - best known for her role as a mother in the Oxo TV adverts - passed away on Sunday 19th October aged 66 after suffering from colon cancer.

Premier Foods, which owns Oxo, is a well-known local employer in Worksop and has a branch on Claylands Avenue.

And now fans have launched a Facebook group to try and get her back on our screens.

The post said: “Sadly Lynda lost her battle with colon cancer.”

“Bring back the Oxo advert for over Christmas. She wanted Christmas one more time. Let’s all like and share and make the advert broadcast in her memory.”

Videos of her adverts and messages of support were published on the ‘Bring back the Oxo Christmas advert in memory of Lynda Bellingham’ page - which now has over 105,000 ‘likes’ since being set-up on Monday 20th October.

Other messages said: “OMG look at the support for this beautiful woman. Actress, presenter and loved by so many! We will make Christmas more special in her memory.”

“I’m so overwhelmed by all the views for Lynda. I’m sure she would of been the same we love you Lynda. Condolences to Lynda’s family at this difficult time.”
