Worksop: Five-year-old boy saves his gran whilst dressed as ‘Superman’ after she fell in cemetery

Angela Pressley was laying flowers at a grave when she injured herself and could not get back to her feet.

But grandson Travis Irons was on hand to save the day after he ran for help and managed to stop a car and call for an ambulance.

To mark this act of bravery, hero Travis was awarded a Guardian Rose and he was named as the Overall Winner at an awards ceremony at the Masonic Hall.

Angela said: “When the ambulance arrived Travis told them what had happened to me and that he couldn’t pick me up.”

“Travis was dressed as Superman at the time and when the the paramedics asked him why he could not pick me and fly me home Travis told them it was because he was not wearing his cape.”

When asked what else he does to look after his nan, Travis said he helps her check her blood sugar levels and keeps her safe when his grandad is out of the house.

The youngster also said that when he grows up he wanted to either be Superman or a doctor so he can look after his family and make other people feel better.

Angela said: “I told him I was going to give him a medal for looking after me and I asked him if he wanted a chocolate one or a real one and he asked for a real one.”
