Mrs Moore, who was joined by her two surviving children, eight grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren, turned a century old on Thursday 9th October.

Son John Moore said: “We had a wonderful day with Mum. It was great how the whole family turned up to celebrate her birthday- there was barely enough space for everyone! The youngest was just three years old.”

“They often went out dancing in Worksop together.”

“She is a very open and jolly person, and absolutely loved the party. We’d like to say a massive thank you to the amazing staff at Avondale for making the day so special.”

“I don’t know if my Mum has a secret to keeping so well- but she does drink a lot of tea!”
