Worksop: Help for drug and drink addicts at Gospel Hall

Worksop drug and drink addicts are being invited to attend an evening with former sufferers at the Gospel Hall.

On Saturday 20th September, a team of men and women who have previously been addicted to drugs, alcohol or suffered problems with mental health will give their insight.

Organised by 7 Project, the evening will include former addicts from Teen Challenge UK telling their stories, as well as a mix of music and videos.

7 Project leader, Shaun Cummings, said: “There will be testimonies from people who have gone through the programme.”

“These are people who have been through tough times but have managed to see some light at the end of the tunnel.”

“The 18-35 group is the age group that seems to have the most problems.”

“We are looking at people who have been children but perhaps their parents have had problems as well.”

From noon until 5pm teams will be on the High Street, Worksop to talk to people in the town.

And then in the evening at the Gospel Hall, on Church Walk, teams will tell their stories and offer advice to visitors from 7.30-9pm.

Shaun added: “The Teen Challenge UK teams will tell their stories to hopefully inspire others to make a change.”

“To hear someone else say they understand is very important.”
