Worksop: Hundreds take part in fun run for Aurora Wellbeing

Aurora Wellbeing on Memorial Avenue, Worksop, held its seventh annual fun run at Doncaster athletics race track to raise vital funds for the charity,

Paul Nugent a stage 3 cancer patient ran the 5k annual run 24.13 minutes and said:‘A charity like this helps people like me, please give your time and support’

Among the runners was model Charlotte Lister, who was voted as the North East’s Face of The Globe winner in 2014.

She swapped the catwalk to raise much needed funds for the charity.

Charlotte said:‘I am not the best runner so I power walked most of it but I managed to complete the run in 37 minutes’

The fun run was officially started at the Doncaster Athletics Track by Civic Mayor Pat Haith.

Last year the charity raised £4,000 from the fun run.

Emma McKay from the Aurora Wellbeing fundraising team said: “Today has been a huge success and we are already planning the date for next year which will be June 20th 2015.”

“We are still waiting for sponsorship forms to come in, so we can announce how much money we have raised.”
