Worksop: Is Hurricane Gonzola making its way to Worksop?

As Hurricane Gonzola batters parts of Britain, it all seems quiet in Worksop for now.

The town is still on a yellow warning for wind, which as been issued by the Met Office which is due to last until 6pm tonight.

Severe gales are expected to affect much of the country today.

Gusts of more than 50 mph are likely in Worksop today, with 60 to 70 mph gusts in some exposed coastal areas, and higher on hills and headlands in other parts of the country.

Even though the weather seems tame now, the Met Office are still warning the public to be aware of the potential for disruption to travel and possible damage to trees.

In other parts of the country, thousands of passengers have been left stranded when Heathrow decided to cancel some of its flights for safety reasons.
