Worksop: Joy in the town as CEX shop opens for business

The store, which is part of a nationwide chain that buys and sells games, DVDs, phones, computers and other electronics, opened on Bridge Street on Thursday 3rd July.

The town’s residents took to Twitter to express their joy at the opening of the new business, such as @laurenofthesea, who wrote: “A new shop has opened in Worksop and I just found out it’s a CEX. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to our town!”

@PurplePhishy wrote: “Worksop is getting a CEX! What is this wonderful madness?”

Danny Clifft, operations manager, said he was excited about his role at the new store and getting to know the Worksop community.

He said: “The demand for a CEX shop in Worksop was absolutely massive, so we’re hoping attract many shoppers on the high street.”

“We basically buy and sell electronics, DVDs, things like that, for a great price- and we’re looking forward to seeing what the people of the town have for us.”

“We currently have eight staff manning the shop to answer any questions and help new customers,” he added.
