Jake Smith, 23, of South Avenue, Worksop admitted elbowing staff member Richard Concannon in head the Corner House pub in Worksop in January and then kicking out at PC Simon Spooner after he resisted arrest when the police were called.

The court heard that Smith had drunk around pints of lager prior to the incident and had also been arguing with his sister after he believed she had started taking drugs.

Defending, Mr David Verity said: “He says it was more of a push on Mr Concannon, rather than an elbow.”
