Worksop: Man stole booze twice in a day from same shop

A Worksop man awaits sentencing after admitting two thefts on the same day.

Worksop Magistrates’ Court heard how Liam Gilfoyle, 24, first entered Sainsbury’s at around 7.30am.

Prosecutor Ruth Snowdin told the court how Gilfoyle, of Swaledale, asked a staff member how much three packs of Strongbow cider would cost, before leaving without paying.

Around two hours later he returned to the same shop and stole two packs of Budweiser beer, when staff identified Gilfoyle on CCTV.

Ian Pridham, mitigating, said he Gilfoyle had taken the items to sell and clear his debts.

Sentencing will take place on the morning of 25th July.
