Worksop: Marathon man Paul is raring to go

Paul Scott, 35, only took up running about a year ago, having previously thought that it was not for him.
However, on Sunday morning the Watson Road resident will line up with thousands of others in Nottingham for the Robin Hood Marathon.

Paul said: “I went running with a friend one morning and it almost killed me, but I got the bug.”
“Eight weeks later I completed the Worksop Half Marathon, carried on and did the Sheffield Half as well.”
He added that he wanted to raise awareness of CLIC Sargent’s work as well as funds.

Paul has steered clear of setting a fundraising target, particularly as the holiday season has disrupted his training plans.
He said: “It’s come at an awkward time really - in the last month or so we’ve been away twice at exactly the time my training should have stepped up.”
However, Paul remains optimistic and is aiming for a time of under 3 hours 40 minutes.
