Mansfield magistrates were told Leongard was seen by police driving the wrong way up a one way street at 10pm.

He reversed his Vauxhall Vectra car and steered out, before stopping and talking to people at the roadside.

A breath test showed Leongard had 66mcg in 100ml of breath where the legal limit is 35mcg.

He told officers who conducted the roadside test he had drunk ‘two beers’that evening.

The court heard he had been depressed following the break up of his relationship with his partner.

Magistrates were told Leongard had committed a previous offence of driving with excess alcohol in December 2011.

He was also subject to a Crown Court suspended sentence.

He was banned from driving for 39 months, fined £110 with £85 costs, with a £20 victim surcharge and £150 court charge.
