Worksop: MP Mann speaks at anti-incinerator campaign group meeting

The Worksop Against Incineration campaign group welcomed Bassetlaw MP John Mann to their latest meeting at Rhodesia Village Hall.

Mr Mann spoke about the proposed Worksop Waste Incinerator, which is planned to be built on the site of the old recycling centre on Shireoaks Road

Mr Mann’s main concern amongst many others was the inappropriate location for this development.

“Afterwards an in-depth discussion took place covering a wide range of concerns including health, the

environment and the local economy,” said a group spokesman.

“Mr Mann was excellent during the hour-and-a-half long meeting.”

“Everyone who was there spoke very highly of what he had said and the way he spoke.”

Following-on from Mr Mann’s talk at their meeting, the campaign group then had a stall at the Shireoaks Carnival.

“We had another great response to our campaign there and around 300 people signed the ever-growing petition against the proposed Worksop waste incinerator,” continued the group spokesman.
