“To all local people and shoppers, we are aware of emerging stories about parking at the Priory following the changes to the parking system earlier this year. We wanted to address the people of Worksop directly to remove any confusion.”

“The changes were made with you in mind. We used to receive complaints from our shoppers about people who were misusing the car park and using it for a long stay parking, preventing genuine shoppers from using the spaces.”

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your loyalty and to remind you that parking charges have not increased and the Priory Centre car park remains the cheapest in town.”

“We’ve been monitoring the impact of the new Parking Eye system and in a four week period over 64,000 visitors have used the car park. Of this less than 1 per cent were issued with a parking charge. We are aware that some of these were issued by mistake due to user error and were subsequently revoked.”

“Charges are only issued to those exceeding the car parking limits or not purchasing a ticket. All visitors using the car park must purchase a ticket to cover the duration of their stay – which has always been the case.”

“At the Priory, we devote a lot of time to making Worksop and it’s a community a better place and strive to maintain our position and reputation within the town. We hope the comments of the minority do not deter you from visiting the centre and look forward to welcoming you on your next visit.”
