Worksop: Norbridge is one of the country’s best

The Government minister for Schools has described a Worksop primary school as “exceptionally effective” after it was ranked within the top performing 250 schools in the country.

In a letter to the school David Laws MP described Norbridge Academy as being “exceptionally effective at educating its pupils”.

These results mean the school also ranked as the second-best in Notts and in the top 10 in the East Midlands.

Mr Laws also praised staff for giving the children “a good start in life and a strong springboard into secondary education.”

In the school’s most recent key stage 2 tests, 100 per cent of pupils achieved at least level 4 in reading, while 94 per cent achieved level 4 in numeracy and writing.

The results also showed that 100 per cent pupils achieved expected or greater progress in key stage 2.
