Election fever swept the school with the four candidates Jack McKinnell, Jade Gordon, Ben Storey and Leah McGrath battling it out to win the position.

The candidates wrote their own manifestos and ran professional election campaigns to try and persuade students to vote for them.

All students at Outwood Academy Valley voted in the elections.

Bassetlaw Council interim chief executive Neil Taylor spoke to candidates the day after voting took place, before he announced the result.

Year 10 pupil Jade Gordon won the election and year 11 student Ben Storey was elected as vice president.

“The results were very close for all four, but the overall winner was Jade with Ben being the vice president,” said Stacey Anderson, year seven learning manager.

“They had a great experience and really enjoyed the whole process.”
