WORKSOP PARENTS KILLING: Residents react one year on

Shocked residents on a Worksop street where a man admitted the killing of his parents have told the Guardian that the incident is still fresh in their minds.

Kamil Dantes, 29, admitted the manslaughter of his mum Malgorzata Dantes and dad Leszek Dantes at Notts Crown Court on Wednesday 27th May.

The 54-year-olds’ bodies were discovered at around 6am on Monday 21st April 2014 in the upstairs front bedroom of the family home on Hardwick Road East.

He will be sentenced at a later date.

Betty Muse, who was at her boyfriend’s house on Hardwick Road East on the day of the killings, said: “We used to see him on the street but we didn’t know him personally.”

“We got up that morning and there was police everywhere.”

“Our next door neighbours told us what happened.”

“He never bothered anybody and always said hello.”

“The couple were beautiful people.”

“It is still the talk of the street.”

Lesley, of Hardwick Road West, said: “He was a lovely lad and from what I have heard he was crying out for help.”

“I felt sorry for him.”

“We were just in shock.”

At the time of the incident, next door neighbour Fay Peacock said: “They were very nice people, great people.”

“When the lady first moved in she brought me a cake as a present.”

“She would always say ‘hello’ in a morning. I am very sad.”
