Worksop: Shopper finds creepy crawly in his 69p Aldi peppers

A shopper found a creepy crawly in a pack of peppers that he bought from Aldi in Worksop.

Tomasz Hofman, of Carlton-in-Lindrick, was shopping at the store on Gateford Road on Monday 12th January.

He said that when he returned home, he noticed a small green bug on one of the Spanish peppers.

“My son is two-and-a-half years old and if I gave him this it could made him poorly,” Mr Hofman said.

Staff at the Aldi supermarket offered him a refund or exchange when he returned to the premises but he said that he did not want to take up the offer.

“I shop there quite a lot, I have never had anything like this before,” Mr Hofman added. I will continue to go back in.”

An Aldi spokesperson said: “Aldi takes every complaint very seriously and we have stringent product specifications and exacting quality control measures in place.”

“We have looked into this particular incident with our supplier and can confirm this is an isolated incident.”
