Worksop: Spaniels return to their ‘spiritual home’ Clumber Park for a festive walk

Clumber Spaniels and their owners will be getting together for a group walk on Sunday, December 6 in Clumber Park and with over 14 spaniels and two 6 month old puppies expected to arrive, this could be their biggest walk yet.

The group will start with a competition for the best dressed festive Clumber and will then go for a walk around the grounds of the National Trust property.

This historic and rare British dog breed originated in Clumber Park in the late 18th century because the Duke of Newcastle wanted a heavier slower moving spaniel that could cope with the thick undergrowth on his land.

Jo Coxon, who has been on several walks said “These walks are great because it’s the only chance our Clumber Spaniel Kevin gets to meet other Clumbers”.
