Worksop: Teenager is banned from driving after she took her friend’s car without permission

A Worksop teenager has been banned from driving for 18 months after she took her friend’s car without permission and without a driving licence.

Anne-Marie Thompson, 19, of John Street, Worksop, appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court and pleaded guilty to driving without insurance or a driving licence, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, being in possession of a class B drug and failing to provide a specimen.

Thompson was disqualified form driving for 18 months, given a 20 weeks custodial sentence suspended for 12 months, a supervision order, ordered to pay £80 victim surcharge and £85 costs and destruction of the drugs.
