Worksop: Thunder storm provides rude awakening

Another storm on Monday night marked the end of the heatwave, bringing a distinctly fresh feeling to the air.

Charlotte Deane captured this dramatic image of the storm clouds clearing over Clowne at around 10.44pm.

Commuters faced difficult road conditions on their journeys this morning with lots of spray slowing traffic down.

Today’s forecast is for rain to clear this afternoon until around teatime when the showers will start again, turning thundery into the evening.

But it will stay warm with top temperatures of 24 deg C.
