Worksop: What you’ve had to say about the closure of much loved ‘town institution’ Bird’s

Since we broke the news that renowned Worksop butcher E.A Bird & Sons had closed its doors readers have been flocking to comment on social media.

It is claimed the company has gone into voluntary liquidation, and staff at the Bridge Place shop told the Guardian they were made aware of the announcement this afternoon.

It is thought the branch in the town has around eight employees and has been situated in Worksop for over 100 years.
