Claire Hattel, 30, of Watson Road, pleaded guilty at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday 13th February.

Hattel committed the thefts whilst subject to a 12-month conditional discharge which she received in March 2014 for being in possession of a Class A drug.

The court heard that Hattel went inside the store in Manton on 18th December 2014.

The store manager decided to check the CCTV in the store after seeing Hattel ‘acting suspiciously’ before leaving.

The manager checked the recording and saw Hattel take the meat and various other items worth £44.76 and put them in her bag.

She told police she did it so she could sell the items and buy drugs.

She accepted the offence meant she was in breach of the conditional discharge.

In mitigation, David Verity said his client, who was supported in court by Framework, deserved credit for her immediate guilty plea that she entered.

“She is doing her best,” Mr Verity said.
