Worksop: Young dancer proves dreams do come true as she is chosen for role of Belle at Disneyland Paris

A Worksop dancer has proven dreams do come true after being chosen by Disney to perform as Belle from Beauty and the Beast at Disneyland Paris.

Kirsty Hayes, who dances at Rebecca’s Dance Studios in Carlton-in-Lindrick, passed a gruelling audition in London on Wednesday 5th November before landing the role.

Kirsty said: “I love dancing and performing and I love Disney.”

“As Belle is my favourite Disney Princess, this really is a childhood dream come true.” “I couldn’t believe it when they told me, I was ecstatic.”

Kirsty will fly off to Disneyland Paris in December to work at the theme park over Christmas after receiving a call to inform her that a position had become available.

Dance teacher Rebecca Doona said: “This is great news for Kirsty and I am so proud of her.”

“We will be extremely sad to see her go as she is one of our most talented senior dancers, promising teachers and an inspirational role model at the school.”

“We have some great pupils that go on to dance proffessionally, but we’ve never had a Disney princess before.”

“Our studio opened three and a half years ago, but Kirsty has danced all her life. She has worked very hard to get to this point.”

“She is extremely talented and this is her dream job. We wish her the very best of luck and hope that this is an excuse for a holiday to Disneyland to see her in the parade!”

Rebecca’s Dance Studios , which is based in Carlton-inLindrick, offers training in ballet, tap, acrobatics and much more.
