There will be prizes for the winners of the races - under fives, under 11s, under 18s, under 54s, and open.

Everyone is invited to go along and join the fun by taking part in the races or standing on the sidelines and cheering on the brave competitors.

Community gardeners - Ray Creek was the speaker at the monthly meeting in the town hall.

In his very informative address, he gave lots of advice on the growing and care of orchids.

He suggested it was not necessary to cut the stems back after the flowers had faded and urged care with watering.

A reminder was given of the summer coach outings, which are being arranged during the summer months, which this year includes an additional, extended visit to France to view Monet’s garden.

There are usually seats available for any non-members who are interested in going along.

Details are available from the organiser Carole Watts, who will also take bookings.
