As well as sponsoring the rain jackets, the young players were treated to some celebratory fish and chips.

Peter Franklin, one of the team’s coaches, said: “We would like to thank Adam’s Bay owners Helena and Andrew for sponsoring the kids jacket and their meal.”

The Marshalls Sports club was formed 15 years ago by a group of parents and volunteers.

And it has continued to offer football coaching and playing opportunities to its members during this time with various teams playing in the Kerry’s Mini, Caparo and Jack Kalson leagues.

Mr Franklin continued: “Demand for football and coaching is such that the club started a new session on Saturday mornings from 9am to 10am, called the minnows which will caters for the under-sevens boys and girls.

“All sessions are supervised by FA qualified coaches.

“The club was one of the first to start a girls team and their under-18s, who play in the Lincolnshire Girls League.

“The club’s commitment to girls football has resulted in the club hosting county finals at the ground over recent years.

“The team has also achieved the charter standard kite mark from the Football Association in recognition of their commitment to providing a high quality footballing experience.

The club is supported in their development by Jonathan Coles, Lincolnshire County Council’s football development officer, who supports the club to link with the local community and schools in the area.

“Working together, the club and Jonathan run and organise tournaments for the local schools as well as carrying out football sessions to promote the sport across the town.”
