Young readers are rewarded

A GROUP of young bookworms from Kiveton have been rewarded for their efforts over the summer holidays.

Youngsters who took part in the summer reading challenge at Kiveton Park Library were given medals and certificates.

Principal library assistant Diane Smith said there was a good turnout of children at the presentation evening.

The theme of this year’s challenge was story lab - a celebration of story and the imagination.

The challenge, which is now in its 14th year, is designed to help children develop a love of reading, boost their confidence and teach them new skills. Children are encouraged to read six books or more during the summer holidays.
