Clubs in the three National League Divisions could be set to vote on whether or not they want to scrap the season, it has been reported.

The 66 member clubs are currently hoping they can obtain further grants via the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport after the initial three-month £11m package - provide by the National Lottery - ended in December.

But if grants cannot be found, the National League will speak to clubs in its three divisions - which includes the National League North and South - this week to discuss a vote that could lead to the season being declared null and void, the BBC has reported.

The DCMS has stated that future funding to steps one and two would be in the form of loans, which many clubs says they cannot afford to take on.

Many chairman state they agreed to begin the season in October as they were led to believe that grant support would continue to cover lost revenue until fans were allowed to return to stadiums.

This is disputed by the DCMS.

At present, the North and South divisions have been suspended for a two-week period while action continues in the National League.

The regional divisions are currently due to resume action on February 6.
