Free hot drinks and 50 per cent off

From Wednesday (18 March) onwards, Pret a Manger is offering all NHS staff free hot drinks, alongside giving them 50 per cent off all food. Anyone with an NHS staff ID can pick up the free drinks and discounted food in all branches of the coffee chain.

A post on the chain’s social media said, “Dear NHS workers, your hot drinks are on the house from today, and we’ll take 50% off everything else.

“Thank you for everything you are doing. We look forward to serving you. With love, everyone at Pret.”

Free drinks

McDonald's announced today (18 Mar) that it will be giving out free drinks to NHS workers, emergency services personnel, and health and social care staff as the coronavirus outbreak continues.

In a statement, McDonald's said, "We want to use our UK and Ireland footprint to thank, reward and support the health and care workers doing an incredible job in difficult and unprecedented times.

"This offer is a token of our appreciation for the tireless work that these professionals are carrying out in the communities in which we operate.

"From today [18 Mar] we are offering free drinks for those workers in our restaurants and Drive Thrus, on sight of their work pass."

This offer is available for staff from the NHS, council and emergency services. In order to claim your free drink, you will need to present your ID.

The offer applies to all drinks - including hot beverages. McDonald's also announced that it would be closing seating areas and becoming a takeaway, Drive-Thru and McDelivery only.
