The Harry Potter studios are preparing to reopen this week after being closed during the lockdown period, with a new addition in store for fans of the book and film franchise.

The Warner Bros Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter will be reopening its doors to excited fans on Thursday 20 August, allowing them to wander through the sets of popular Harry Potter locations and take a look at an array of unique costumes and props.

New addition to the studios

The studio tour has also added a new addition, which will be available to see when doors reopen.

Those whose favourite Hogwarts house is Slytherin will be excited to learn that the studios have added a Slytherin Common Room to the tour.

This new addition was set to open earlier this year and run until September, but it has now been extended to November in order to give fans a wider opportunity to explore everything Slytherin-related.

Visitors can explore the green and silver themed common room, which is 25 feet high and features a formidable fireplace, the Slytherin sofas, and an array of authentic props.

All of the new Slytherin extras will be included in the usual admission price. Tickets are now back on sale for the tour on the official website, with booking slots available through to 31 June 2021.

New safety measure in place

New measures will be in place when the tour opens its doors to customers, including social distancing, reduced capacity, additional signs and floor markings, and enhanced cleaning.

Visitors aged 11 and over will be required to wear a face covering for the duration of their visit, and hand sanitiser stations will be dotted throughout the tour.

Some areas may be unavailable in an attempt to limit visitor contact, and the shops and cafés will only be accepting cashless or contactless payment.
