Aegir Cycling Club riders enjoy leisure rides to Sudbrooke and Humber Bridge

GAINSBOROUGH Aegir Cycling Club’s 65-mile leisure ride on Sunday to Sudbrooke was enjoyed by Trevor Halstead, Dave Day, Joe Smith (15) and Paul Reynolds.

The leisure ride on Sumday 3rd June was to the Humber Bridge, with just three riders completing the 84-mile round trip.

They were Trevor Halstead, Colin Smith and Joe Smith (16).

The club’s 10-mile time trial took place on 6th June starting at Knaith Park on the A156 to the traffic island at Torksey Lock, turning around and retracing the outward route and passing through the start to finish at China Bridge near Lea Park Wood.

Personal best times for 10 miles were achieved by Jordan Skelly, Joe Noble (juvenile), Joe Nash, Matt Hindmarsh, Liam Hindmarsh (juvenile) and Andy Clarke,

Private trials (non-club members) - 1, Andy Lewin (Trent Valley RC) 23-58; 2, Neil Winter (Lincoln Wheelers) 24-42 seconds; 3, Ian Ferraby (TVRC) 25-41; 4, Steve Brown, trike (Scunthorpe Road CLub) 33-06.

The next racing event is on Tuesday 19th June and are league 15-mile and eight-mile time trials - meet Laughton Lane (near Croft Farm) 6.45pm, first rider off at 7pm.

On Sunday 17th June there is the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance sponsored cycle ride with rides for all the family of 10, 15, 30 miles and a toddlers’ ride.

Start 10.30am from Gainsborough Adventure Playground (GAPA), Riseholme Road.

Sponsor forms can be obtained from Church Street Cycles, Gainsborough.

There is also a Pedalling Picnic on the same day in Richmond Park, Gainsborough, from 4pm onwards, when you can cycle to the park and bring your picnic

On Wednesday 20th June there is a novice race organised by Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club with the Church Street Cycles Trophy for the overall winner.
