Aiden claims a gala medal

Aiden, 14, was one of three Skegness Amateur Swimming Club members to qualify for the event, and won the club’s first-ever medal at the competition.

He claimed bronze in his heat in the boys’ 15 years 50m backstroke, his reward after spending the past year training eight hours per week in the pool.

His heat victory also saw him earn his place in the overall final, where he finished sixth in a time of 33.81 secs, a pb.
