All Blacks dominant

Gainsborough travelled to Lincoln in this penultimate merit table game hoping for a good result to leave them in the top three of the table.

Gainsborough showed a few changes with veteran Shane Ellis returned to the first team starting line-up and Gareth Wood started for the All Blacks for the first time this season.

They totally dominated the first half and went into the interval 21-0 in front, but the second half was unfortunately cut short after 20 minutes because of a serious injury to one of the Lincoln players and an ambulance had to be called. It is understood that the player has a broken leg. The All Blacks had scored two more tries at this point and the hosts one.

The Gainsborough try scorers were Daniel Chadwick, Andy Turner (three) and Mike Nichols scored his first try for the club. Tom Parkinson converted the tries for the additional two points.

A special mention to Darren Gagg who had another fine game but Andy Turners hat trick of tries earned him the man of the match award.

Next Saturday Gainsborough entertain Market Rasen thirds at home (3pm).
