The sun was out most of the time for the match on Swallow Lake.

And the event was boosted as more-than respectable weights were brought in.

Most anglers were using the time honoured maggot and pellets and first place and the golden peg went to Stamp (Preston/Sonubaits) on peg four with 82lbs 8oz.

In second was Andy Beasley (Garbolino/RAF) with a haul of 65lbs 8oz.

He drew peg six.

In third was Steve Lane (Westwood/Marukyu), located on peg 16 and taking 50lbs 8oz

Results: 1 Mick Stamp (Preston/Sonubaits) peg 4 (the golden peg) – 82lbs 8oz, 2 Andy Beasley (Garbolino / RAF) peg 6 – 65lbs 8oz; 3 Steve Lane (Westwood/Marukyu) peg 16 – 50lbs 8oz.

Last week’s Wednesday Ooen, played on Swallow Lake, wps won by Westwood Lakes’ Ernie Heseltine.
