Angling - Commercial round-up

Starting at Lakeside, Wednesday’s open saw Mick Shaw - weighing 68lb 10oz of Ide tempted on worm and caster from peg 29a - to claim victory with pole fished caster.

On the Carp Lake, Garry and Luke Croft landed 11 specimens between them including four 20s the best a common of 26lb 14oz from peg three on cell boilies.

While over on the trout lake Ian Wilkinson bagged 21 fish to an impressive 9lb on his cats whisker presented on a floating line, with John Smalls casting his segmented bloodworm on a sinking line to account for 16 fish to 6lb.

Tuesday’s open match at Riverside: 1st Terry Pixley (28lb 12oz, peg 35, feeder) 2nd Brian Crowder (27lb, peg 26, pole and meat).

Wednesday: 1st John English (34lb 6oz, peg 36, pole and pellet) 2nd Pete Ware (34lb 4oz, peg 32, pole and pellet).

Friday: 1st Pete Ware (46lb 11oz, peg 32, pole and meat) 2nd Keith Noble (45lb 6oz, peg 14, pole and pellet).

Saturday: 1st Pete Ware (40lb 10oz, pole and pellet) 2nd Dave Newbury (29lb 2oz, peg 3, pellet waggler).

At Lodge Farm Tuesday’s open was held on the Lilley Pond: 1st Pete Gosney (101lb 4oz, peg 66, pole and pellet) 2nd Steve Nemass (78lb 11oz, peg 70, bubble float).

Wednesday’s over 50s competition was held on the Signal Pond: 1st John Gunn (86lb 9oz) 2nd Andy Hill (79lb 15oz, peg 15, pole and pellet).

Thursday’s match was held on the Field: 1st Simon Hill (110lb 3oz, peg 17, pole and pellet) 2nd Andy Favill (98lb 8oz, peg 37, pole and caster).

Meanwhile, the annual Worksop Junior Angling Match takes place on Saturday 25th August at Sandhill lake.
