The first round of Sportivate funding for this year closes next Friday, and Lincolnshire Sport is looking for applications from groups wanting to target women and girls, aged 11-25 years.

Lucy Blakey, children and young people officer at Lincolnshire Sport, said: “Funding is available for sports projects in Lincolnshire to encourage women and girls to take part in more sport.

“It is a great opportunity to encourage young people to get involved but also provides a huge financial incentive for sports clubs, schools, leisure facilities and others, to deliver more activities across Lincolnshire.”

More than 600 projects have received funding through Sportivate since July 2011, with sessions including golf, badminton, kayaking, wheelchair basketball, target shooting and more.

Sports clubs, schools, community groups, NGBs, local authorities, universities, youth clubs, colleges, leisure facilities and workplaces targeting 11–25-year-olds can all apply for funding to deliver between six and 12 weeks of sports sessions.

The deadline to apply for the next round of funding - targeting at projects wanting to run sessions between April to June this year - is January 29. Visit www.lincolnshiresport.com/sportivate to download the application form or contact Lucy Blakey on 01522 730 325 or [email protected] to request a copy.
