Liberal then won all three doubles to end up 8-4 winners, leaving the Sports at the wrong end of the table.

Ex Service 501s played host to Welcome Anchors, where Andy Hardy got them off to a flier with his victory against Gary Garton.

The singles ended up 3-3 with the match in the balance, but the 501’s won all the doubles with the help of Chris Fletcher (140, 114 finish) and Ken Wilson (121, 140) to end up 9-3 winners.

Welcome had Neil Huskisson (2x133), Oli Sumner (180) throwing well.

The final game in this division saw Ex Service Cobras take on this season’s surprise package Seaview Oak.

The Oak won all the singles to lead 6-0, helped by Lee Godrich (121, 2x123, 135, 2x140).

Ian Chamberlain and Roy Parnham (3x133) won the middle pairs for the home side with an 18-dart leg, and this was the only success as the Oak ran out a comfortable 10-2 winners.

Ian Chamberlain also hit 134, 2x140, and a 14-dart singles leg while Stuart Corsen (120, 121) did well for the Cobra’s.

In the Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd Division Two, league leaders Ex Service C were away at the Welcome Hillbillies.

Leading 4-2 after the singles, they then won all the doubles to sweep away the home side 10-2.

WMC Aces entertained Vine and had a comfortable 5-1 singles lead with help from Mick Jones (121, 2x140) and Gareth Jowett (100 finish).

Vine won the first of the pairs to threaten a come back, but the Aces pairings of Spencer Davis and Mick Jones, and Mick Seagers and captain David Reding, put paid to that by winning their doubles, giving the Aces a 9-3 win.

Vine had Mick Spence (123, 125), Neil Bradley (121, 125) and Miles Hartley (180) high scoring.

Seaview Raiders led Liberal Us 4-2 after the singles, but Liberal’s Mick Peech (3x140, 105 finish) and S. Giles, D. Martin and Matt Reeson won their pairs to lead 6-4, going into the last game.

Kieran Steven Emsen and Barry Taylor kept their nerve and won their match to get the draw.

Liberal’s Roy Langworth chipped in with a 107 finish.

Finnegans, the only unbeaten team in this division, were away to Cricket Club, and the home side raced into a 5-1 lead after the singles with M. Forman (121, 122) and P. Lucas (180) doing well, but Finnegans showed their mettle, dug their heels in and won all the singles to snatch a 7-5 victory, and remain unbeaten in second place in the league.
