ATHLETICS: Quartet brave Rauceby Ripper

The 8.5 mile multi-terrain course took the runners over trail pathways, edges of fields and sections of tarmac roads.

Craig Ward and Emma Humphries took advantage of the much improved weather conditions of the previous weekend and led the Striders contingent from the start, in the grounds of Rauceby Hall.

The duo managed to maintain a steady progression through the entry of just over 200 runners, and Ward crossed the finish line near South Rauceby Village Hall in a splendid time of 64 mins 05 secs.

Following soon after was Humphries in an equally good 64 mins 35 secs.

Striders new membership secretary, Chris Litherland made a much welcomed return to the club’s colours and donned the vest with pride as he recorded a fine time of 66 mins 59 secs.

Norman Hindley (V60) soon completed the quartet’s fine set of performances with a time of 67 mins 33 secs.

In the Lincoln 5K parkrun at Boultham Park, Gary Benson recorded 28:01 and Chris Inman 28:42.

Clare Hardwick ran a personal best of 24:32 in the Central Park 5K parkrun at Scunthorpe.
