ATHLETICS: Sleaford Striders stretch their legs at Stamford

In ann event that involved hills, hills and more hills, the first Strider to finish was the ever youthful Sandy Telfer in a magnificent time of 2hr 23min 15sec. Sandy was followed home by Andy Dickinson in 2.26.03 with the diminutive Hayley Bostock first Strider lady in 2.50.16.

Next to finish and only one second behind Hayley was Hannah North. Derek James 2.52.49, Ann Riddell 3.26.57, Dawn Bailey and Graham Riddell 3.29.42, Tracey Dickinson 3.31.52 and Ted Preston 3.55.47 were the other Striders finishing in the field of 599 finishers.

Whilst those Striders were in Stamford, Darrell Williamson took part in the Dukeries 10 mile race, finishing in a great time of 1.39.00.

n Sleaford Striders have a junior and adult section. The juniors start from the age of six with no upper age limit for adults. There is an opportunity to walk, jog or run on the adult evenings and all paces are catered for. More information can be found on www.sleafordstriders.org
