Be a Sport Maker

With the Gainsborough and Morton 10k just two months away, Gainsborough and Morton Striders have joined up with the National Lottery funded Sport Makers scheme to provide volunteers for local sporting events and hopefully find locals willing to assist the club make the 10,000m race a success on 4th March.

Sport Makers is being facilitated in our area by the Lincolnshire Sports Partnership (http://lincolnshiresports.com/sport-makers).

The aim of Sports Makers is to recruit, train and deploy sport volunteers nationally that are aged 16 years or over to organise and lead sporting activities.

Whether it’s planning the route, finding the pitch or encouraging people to take part – sport doesn’t just happen, it needs people to make it happen.

Become one of 40,000 Sport Makers and you’ll not only get the skills, knowledge and opportunities you need to get more people playing sport, you’ll become part of the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sports legacy.

If you’d like to register to help at a local event, which could include the Gainsborough and Morton 10k, then please contact LSP via the above website or visit gainsboroughrunningclub.co.uk to get in touch with Gainsborough and Morton Striders who can provide more information about the scheme.
