Horncastle Men’s 1sts 3

Horncastle Hockey Club’s Men’s Firsts secured a 3-2 win at Eley.

As expected, the first half was evenly balanced until a breakaway goal gave Eley the lead.

Horncastle came back strong and a well-worked move between Seymour and Bee resulted in the latter slipping through the defence like an eel to coolly beat the keeper.

After a strong half time talk from skipper Scott, Horncastle started the second half well, Bennett’s reverse strike putting them in front.

Another breakaway goal from Eley made it 2-2 before, in the dying seconds of the game, Bennet scored from a short corner to make it 3-2 to Horncastle.

C. Partridge was named the man of the match for Horncastle.
