Using a mixture of maggot, pellet and caster, the top four brought in more than 100lb each.

Chris Bradney (Dynamite Baits), at peg 10, won with 153lb 4oz, from runner-up Roy Taylor (WWL), peg 12, with 127lb. Janusz Kedzierski (WWL), peg 11, was third with 125lb 6oz and Steve Lane (WWL/Marukyu), from peg 13, had 102lb 14oz for fourth.

○ The start of the Wednesday ‘The Big Fish’ open match on Swallow Lake, last Wednesday, saw 18 anglers taking part.

First place went to Neil Blackhum (peg 4), with 116lb. Second was Bomber (peg 17), who brought in 75lb, with third place going to Tony Smith (peg 23) on 43lb 12oz.

Other leading anglers on the day included Adrian Freeman (peg 25), fourth with 38lb 12oz, and Pat James (peg 18), whose catch of 37lb 12oz gave him fifth place.

○ Westwood Lakes Over 50s open match took place on Skylark Lake on Thursday.

An entry of 34 anglers turned out, with first place going to Ade Freedman (Got Baits), who brought home 100lb 4oz from peg 16.

Second spot went to Brian Chatts (peg 25) with 88lb. Jeff Duggan (WWL), peg 32, was third on 85lb, Janusz fourth (WWL), peg 5, with 80lb 12oz, and Barry Taylor (WWL), peg 7, came fifth with 62lb 4oz.
